The John Mochnick/Matt Kendrick Jazz Duo is a unique piano/bass ensemble active in the Winston-Salem, NC area. The group plays a wide variety of repertoire including standards from the Great American Songbook, blues, show tunes, bossa novas and “classical” selections (Bach, Vivaldi, Schubert, Mozart, Chopin, etc.).
In addition, vocal solos and duets are frequently included in their performances. With such a varied repertoire, the duo is comfortable in a variety of venues including: formal concerts, supper clubs, cabaret entertainments, private events, and parties. The concert program entitled “Bach, Brubeck and Beyond” has had several successful performances at Wake Forest University, Home Moravian Church, Arbor Acres Retirement Community, and Salemtowne.
In addition, the duo performs every Saturday night at Noble’s Grille on Knollwood Avenue in Winston-Salem, 7:30-9:30 p.m. –- a steady gig that it has held for over five years.
Other performance venues include: Meridian Restaurant, Camel City Café, New South Diner, Village Tavern (Hanes Mall Rd.), Forsyth Country Club, Bermuda Run Country Club, Speakeasy Jazz Club, Raffaldini Vineyards, NOMA, Salem College, Graylyn Estate, Piedmont Club, Jazz Coalition concert, Grappa Grille (Greensboro), The Blue Vine (Salisbury), Pine Brook Country Club, Salem Tavern, and J.H. Adams Inn & Restaurant (High Point).
